Seminar on Communication Skills between Teachers and
Students
The Institute for Contemporary Education’s Center for Professional Development and the Center for Mediation and Nonverbal Communication held an accredited seminar “Communication Skills between Teachers and Students” on Saturday and Sunday, November 23 and 24 at the Institute. The seminar was organized by Divna Dimitrijević, historian, certified mediator and behavioral forensics practitioner, and Jelena Dinić, Master of Philology (Serbian language and literature), and a coordinator of a number of training programs dedicated to communications and active learning.
In this seminar, participants learned how to implement mediation as a confidential and neutral way of conflict resolution. Workshops organized within the seminar analyzed real-life situations taken from the teaching practice, where teachers had an opportunity to practice the principles of active listening and nonverbal communication using practical tools.
Teachers attending the seminar have acquired practical skills of comprehensive analysis of conflict situations that will allow them to understand the perception of different situations, and thus to solve conflicts through mediation, as well as to develop a sense of mutual respect, tolerance, camaraderie, and collective peace and stability among students.
The Institute for Contemporary Education and the Center for Mediation and Nonverbal Communication would like to thank all teachers who attended for the great atmosphere at the seminar.
