2 online training programs: Using IT tools in music education
The Institute for Contemporary Education would like to invite all class teachers, music education teachers in primary and secondary schools, as well as solfège teachers to new online IT training programs My Ear Training and Noten learnen with which they can significantly improve their teaching practice in music education, achieve the desired educational outcomes in an engaging way, greatly modernize their approach to teaching, and finally, honor renowned music artists (130th anniversary of the birth of Kosta Manojlović, 120th anniversary of the birth of Marko Tajčević, 100th anniversary of the birth of Borivoje Simić, and 90th anniversary of the birth of Dejan Despić).
The training programs will be held on Monday, October 19, starting at 5 PM, via the unique Distance Learning Platform of the Institute for Contemporary Education. By attending these training programs, you will learn how IT tools can enrich music education, and how the application of IT content in music education may facilitate and simplify the teaching of more complex musical concepts.
Note: Members of the Institute for Contemporary Education may access the training programs in the archives of the Distance Learning Platform even after training program realization.
By attending these training programs, you will earn a certificate and 4 credits for professional development within an institution issued by the Institute for Contemporary Education’s Center for Professional Development free of charge.
My Ear Training – make the process of recognizing musical sounds simple and creative
By attending this training program, you and your students will get the opportunity to master over 100 exercises for all levels of experience in the application, because this application covers all major musical aspects. Our lecturer will first introduce you to simple intervals, chords and rhythms, but she will also show you how to reach advanced levels, including seventh chord inversion, complex chord progressions, and exotic scales and modes. The application is adaptable to different curricula and syllabuses, but also to individual student competencies, because it includes intervals, chords, chord building, solfège pitch exercises, rhythmic exercises, singing exercises, but also the option of creating customized exercises with accurate statistics for monitoring student progress.
Noten learnen – help your students to master musical notation in an easier way, with the help of digital technology
This training will teach you easy ways to memorize musical notation at different levels of knowledge and note recognition. You will learn how to test student knowledge, but also how to assess and grade them with the help of this interesting application. This teaching resource provides great opportunities for continuous monitoring of student progress, and allows you to examine their ear for music, identify their errors and help them eliminate them. Among various tools for music education, this application has been highly rated by music teachers and the research center Forschungsstelle Appmusik (UdK Berlin). Familiarize yourself with this digital tool based on the practical examples that will be presented in the training program.
Who will be your lecturer?
Aleksandra Pavićević is a music teacher at the Primary School Đorđe Krstić in Belgrade. She graduated from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade with a bachelor’s degree in music pedagogy. She specialized vocal literature at the same faculty in the class of Professor Miloje Nikolić. She currently attends PhD studies at the Faculty of Culture and Media in Belgrade. She is the author of several scientific papers published in scientific journals Krajina, Mokranjac and Godišnjak Megatrenda (Megatrend University Yearbook). One of her papers was translated to English and published in the conference proceedings Savremeno obrazovanje, Subotica 2020. In her career, she was a lecturer, presenter at the international conference Savremeno obrazovanje 2020, 14th Megatrend University conference Kulturna baština (Cultural Heritage), and teacher-promoter at the international conference Svet obrazovanja briše granice (The World of Education Erases Borders).
She wrote a professional guidebook Hor u osnovnoj školi, od audicije do javnog nastupa (Choir in Primary School, from Audition to Public Performance), AGM knjiga, 2017. She is the choirmaster of the school choir which performs at various festivals and competitions in Belgrade, FEDEHO (Children’s Choirs Festival), DEMUS (Children’s Music Festival), and HORFEST (Choir Festival) in Valjevo. She likes to compose music for children. Her original songs have been performed at international festivals in Belgrade, Angel Voice Festival, and in Tuzla, at the Majski cvet (May flower) festival. She writes original lyrics for her songs, or uses lyrics of famous poets, such as Miroslav Kokošar.
She is a member of the Association of Music Teachers, Serbian Choral Association, Angel Voice team, Association of the Best Teachers of Former Yugoslavia – ANN EX YU, editorial board of the professional journal in the field of education Savremena nastava and the Institute for Contemporary Education.
