The Art of Communication – How to speak and listen so that students would want to listen and speak to us – Part 1
The Institute for Contemporary Education’s Center for Professional Development organized an accredited seminar in partnership with Savremena Gimnazija for teachers of Savremena Gimnazija titled The Art of Communication – How to speak and listen so that students would want to listen and speak to us – Part 1 on February 5, 6 and 7, 2019. The seminar was held by Irena Lobodok Štulić, school counselor – psychologist from the citizen association Psihokod, and Milka Mihailović, school counselor – psychologist from Branislav Petronijević Gimnazija in Ub.
The seminar was aimed at strengthening the educational role of the educational institution by developing a program for the prevention of violence, discrimination, abuse and neglect through the improvement of educational and instructive work of teachers, expert associates and preschool teachers, development of communication skills, and cooperation conducive to the creation of a stimulating school climate, prevention of undesirable behavior, and constructive problem resolution.
Participants expressed great satisfaction after the seminar, because in those three days of work, dynamic workshops and interesting discussion topics, they learned a lot about the effects of different educational and communicative approaches, mastered the techniques for maintaining relationships of mutual respect, examined and revised their own attitudes and communication habits, all for the purpose of improving the educational role of teachers.
